Reeds and Isuzu Truck Centre represent one of the largest independent Opel, Chevrolet and Isuzu dealers in South Africa.
Combined they hold the majority share of the Opel, Chevrolet and Isuzu parts, new vehicle and service business in the Western Cape, while Isuzu Truck Centre is one of the largest Isuzu dealerships in the world.
We offer a comprehensive range of Opel and Chevrolet passenger cars, Opel half ton bakkies, Isuzu LDV's, Isuzu trucks and a large selection of used or demo vehicles.
The latest additions to the Reeds group are these premium brands: HUMMER, Saab and Cadillac.
Since 1999 the group has improved the business and service levels dramatically, as measured by independent research.
We have three full dealerships (dealerships with a workshop) and one boutique dealership. These are: Cape Town, N1 City Goodwood, Tygervalley (boutique dealership) Bellville and Epping Industria.
Reeds also has a national car rental division that offers car rental to our clients at special rates. Reeds Car Rental offers extremely competitive rates on car and bakkie rental.
Reeds have been operating since 1909 and will be 100 years in 2009.
Brief History
Reeds Motor Group began trading in 1909 on Bree Street in Cape Town when two brothers, Arthur and Alfred Reed, started the first motor company of it's kind in the country. They provided general maintenance to the few vehicle owners at the time and shortly after became a selling agency. Due to their growth over the following years, A & A Reeds were taken over by a number of larger groups.
In 1949 they were taken over by the Bothner Group
Further expansion took place in 1956 with the takeover by the Stolly's Motor Group (Opel and Chevrolet Franchise).
Then in 1974 the Lonrho Group took over what was then known as Reeds Delta & Isuzu Truck Centre.
August 1999 saw the takeover by an independent group – Reeds Delta (Pty) Ltd.
In August 2004 Reeds Table View was opened.
Reeds Tygervalley (Durban Road) opened in May 2005.
Reeds Parow merged with Reeds Table View to form Reeds N1 City on 15 May 2006.
Reeds Cape Town opened August 2005. |
