SA ARTS AND CRAFTS GALLERY |
About the owner
Hi there all you wonderful people of the world. My name is Sandi and I am the founder and owner of this business undertaking. The reason why I am doing this is easy, namely "passion". Passion for God, life and all the people in the world. Firstly passion for God because He took me from a background of abuse and dispair and gave me hope and a future as promised in Jeremia 29: 11:
" For I know the plans I have for you." declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
I would not be here today if He had not saved me, so every day is a miracle for me and I dedicate my whole life and this website to Him. This verse is also my prayer for everyone who uses this website in one way or another.
Because I have been to the "darkside" I now have a special place in my heart for all people. This is the inspiration behind this website because I realised that in using the internet I can help a lot of other artists who don't have the means to do so. I know a lot of artistic homemakers who are trying to earn extra money and using the Internet is one way of providing a market for them. Furthermore I am busy with a project to create jobs in the African beading market. Unemployment is such a big problem in South-Africa. So if you are buying from this website, thank you for helping to make a difference!!!
Teaching
I teach art and loom beading and my classes in Matlosana will be in full swing in 2006 on a monthly basis at the Museum. People interested, who live, in or near Matlosana (Klerksdorp/Orkney/Stilfontein) are most welcome to make booking arrangements.
Why?
My ultimate goal with this website is to introduce professional and new artists to the art loving community and take African art to the international markets. I also have a calling to help underpriveleged artists, especially those talented artists and crafters that do not have access to national and international markets. In order to manage this, I am collaborating with persons skilled in business development and I am currently focusing in forming alliances with the export role players to assist with this venture.
The future?
My friends say, "Sandi, you are very courageous to start this new venture", but I trust that with God's help and the people involved in this with me, we can turn it into a fully fledged e-marketing gallery. This field is new to me and just as challenging as it is to learn style and technique in painting. I hope that I can make a difference in the art world with this business. I am willing to learn, to make mistakes, to improve my skills but most importantly to help others in doing so. The Lord has opened so many doors for me since the conception of this project, and with His guidance I know I can take it so much further.
May our loving God bless you all !
