| Outsourcing the bookkeeping function is becoming increasingly popular with small to medium businesses where it is not economically viable to have an inhouse bookkeeper. Presently UBS are keeping books for a large group of businesses in the Helderberg basin who are all very happy with the service they are receiving. Unlimited Bureau Services offers a unique bookkeeping service where two bookkeeping software programs are supplied free of charge to a client enabling the client to do the routine work themselves i.e. Point of sale functions such as Invoicing, Crediting, Receipting, etc. on the one program and at the end of each day/week/month (varies from client to client) this information is e-mailed to UBS from a special back-up program. UBS now checks the entries and makes any changes necessary, checks for mistakes and does month end reconciliation of bank statements, debtors and creditors. This information is now sent back to the client, via e-mail, where it is installed on the second program and from where reports may now be called for by management to make financial decision and to get up to date reports such as Debtors age analysis and Income statements, etc. UBS sees to all VAT, UIF, CRC and PAYE returns and at year end prepares the year end financial statements and sees to it that all tax returns are completed on time. Most businesses that fail do so not because of lack of expertise on which the businesses is founded, but due to lack of proper keeping of accounts.
